Sponsors and shops and stuff...

Hi guys

Been new around here and all this might already be happening,

I believe theres sponsors to this site, yes. - i have seen a couple around I think dolphin is one. Wouldnt it be possible to get them displayed on the front page along with what they retail, or with contact details or web links etc.

or

can we start a list/sticky of petshops around the country (not sure how this contravines the sponsorship agreements)

Im always cautious of mentioning a petshop name on a forum like this but i know of about ten petshops around jhb west but would like to see some more

I dont want to step on any toes or anything but im always keeping my eyes open for a new place to shop or for bargains etc and some more places to adventure on a sunday afternoon would be awesome

Tell the other petshops to sponsor TASA

As far as I know, the current sponsors actually don't have a "shop", but rather have ACCESS to get whatever you want. They generally are people who can import certain fish for you because they have the right permits, and the right contacts. They also have contacts with a lot of suppliers, and when you are wanting a specific item, they can order it in for you.

Because they don't have huge overhead costs, they are able to pass on the livestock and equipment on to you at a greatly reduced cost than our LPS stores.

It is with this in mind that the TASA forum do NOT ALLOW the discussion in the public forum about specifics of other LPS stores, because this is taking business away from our sponsors. The sponsors are the people that pay for the running of this site, and as such, they get first dibs if a member is looking for something specific.

We as the moderating team will at times let a LPS name slip past a few times on the forum because generally the person hasn't given any advertising, or specific detail of that LPS. However when it comes to telling people where to get the best bargains, or specific details of the LPS store, we would be forced to remove that thread. That LPS is not paying to advertise on the forum, and we do not feel it fair to our sponsors to allow "free" advertising.

100% understood and respected - hence the question, will have a look over the above thread at the sponsors. would be cool to support the ppl funding one of my info sources for this hobby/lifestyle
Rory will drop the TASA name at a couple of pet shops too
