Hi! Used to have a friend with a great collection of 'pidies... Dr Martin Filmer, SA expert... but he's deceased now, so won't be much help! Still, out of interest, I googled a bit, and quite quickly found a site called Arachnoboards which seems to fit your bill. HTH!

@azurekoi - Im a girl Im allowed to have a fear of things with 8 legs ok! I actually dont mind bugs and slimy snails and worms, but if I see a spider I freak out. As in panic attack freaking out - my LPS had a laugh at me a few months back since they had a tarantula in a glass tank at the counter. I went past it to get frozen foods, realised what was in the tank and screamed and ran to the back of the shop. They couldnt stop laughing and I couldnt get my frozen goodies!

heheh I wish i knew what gave me this fear, but Ive always been afraid of them, snakes is second on the list, but for that I blame an old school friend - did a sleep over at her uncles farm - he collected various snakes - back then I couldnt say no to a dare and we slept that night in the snake room - since then no way, na ah I hate them. But at least i can look at images. My phobia with spiders was so bad I couldnt play games with spiders in it unless I had my brother do the sections that had spiders in. At least I can cope with those spiders now but real spiders still scare me silly. And I honestly cant even look at images of them.

Hahaha... For me on the other hand sleeping in the same room as the spiders and snakes just makes me want more of them... Even if i know that the devil nescaped and is lurking around in my room... But that only happened once... Luckily... ;-)

If you really want to get over your fear of spiders you could always come and visit me... I got my 1 friend who was a arachnophobic to keep tarantulas... So anything is possible... And being a girl is no excuse to be scared of them... I have 2 friend that are keeping tarantulas and both of them are loving it... Just saying...

Only problem with Haplopelma lividium is that it is nocturnal... So if you want to see it you would have to get red lights and stuff because it only comes out of its burrow at night time... And it is also ver VERY VERY AGRESSIVE!!! So my advice is to start with something else that is not that aggressive and not fast... Fast ones are very difficult to catch if they escape... Try something like the Brachypelma or the Grammastolla genera... They are the best to start with... And then you can see what it is like... And never listen to anyone if he/she tells you that Ndandu chromatis is a good starter species... It is as agressive as hell and it is also a very fast bugger... Thus VERY BAD BEGIN...

I Hope this helps... If you want more info just ask.... :-D
