Will a spawning pair of Angels attack smaller fish that come into their "corner" of the tank? Namely: 1. Corydoras or 2. Neon Tetras?

Yes most definitly. They mostly lay their eggs on a rock or cone or something of the sort so seeing as that its not directly on the ground and in direct harms way of the cory's that mostly stays on the ground, they might leave the cory's. But you may suffer neon losses. A large cichlid in breeding compared to a small tetra is no match.

How big is the tank? Possibly the fish will just stay out of their way

Thanks @Fishwhisperer, no tank yet - in the planning stage ;-)
I've been searching a lot for info on angels - and keeping them (properly) seems like a real dilemma if you haven't got a huge tank. The two options I am considering are:
    1. Two in a 120liter (Juwel - Lido 120) with the other tank mates described before
    2. Four in a 180liter (Juwel - Vision 180) " " "
The thing is I want to avoid a situation where there is a lot of aggression towards each other and other tank mates.
Ok - how about if the pair (in the 120liter) is not a breeding pair. I know the corys are safe but what about the neons? I've heard that your chances are much better if the angels grew up from juveniles with the "little ones" in there presence?

Blackfly, where are you situated? - location.?
Angels should be kept in a group in a large, high tank. They will pair of, and you can then move the pair to a separate breeding tank.
Cardinals are more suited to higher temp (28 C) than neons.

If you wanting to successfully raise the fry, you will need the pair to eventually be transferred to their own breeding tank when they become sexually mature. Otherwise the chances of survival in a tank with other tank mates if VERY LOW.

As Gert said rather go with cardinals, they are a bit more pricey but a lot tuffer than the common neon and can withstand higher temperature. Wich you will have to maintane for them to breed.

Zoom is also spot on, it would be nice to keep them in a community tank, but when fully mature and breeding you will have to shift them into a separate tank, to raise their fry, a half cube is a good bet. (500L 500H 500W)

Pop in by Gert he will be able to assit you even further. He currently breeds angels.
Let me know if you do- always nice to meet new members in person.
