Spawn Log - HM White Male x HM White Female

Eggs hatched on 01/12/2012, looks well over 100 fry. It seems that this female holds over 100 eggs almost the same amount of her 1st Spawn.

I thought this male was not up for breeding as he became very aggressive towards other females. But this female like to be beaten up by these aggressive males. The DT Cellophane male also gave her a a beating but only lasted for 1 day and the next day they would spawn. Probably she thought I cannot take this beating any longer so lay the eggs and my owner can remove me quicker out of the spawning tank. LOL

I will load an updated picture of the HM Male, he looks more stunning. A bit of tail nipping while in transportation from Thialand. He is a caring dad, wanted to leave him longer with the fry but they started to swim all over the tank.

 

These are some of the nicest bettas I've seen on this site. Congrats. I'm sure the fry will be beautiful.

About 2 weeks

 

Due to fungal problem mom died, but fry are doing great extremely large batch of fry will be separating bigger.

 

I busy culling the defected fry and some slow growers. I noticed now from all my large fry batches I am getting a few fry with slight bended spin and the back drops.

From my previous batches there were some fry with this problem, but when I put them into a larger grow-out tank this problem disappeared. All my spawning tanks are very shallow, making the food more accessable to the fry.
