I have a large "community" tank filled with midas cichlid males ranging from 12cm up to 40cm witch has really been running smooth, but i made huge error with last batch of youngsters i put into the tank.
dam females everywhere, last 2 weeks have been a nightmare catching 10cm fish in large tank has not been fun.
out of a batch of 14 i have caught vented and given away 12 fish thinking i was done
    this happened
    2 pairs with eggs already.
really amazed at the odds 14 fish kept of out a batch of fry 14 females never had something like this happen and there was a time i would have given arm and leg for female midas but now i seem cursed.

A friend of mine has set up a SA/CA cichlid community
Some of the Vieja are now breeding. Causing chaos in his tank.....but I did warn him

a pair of breeding Kribs is all I see a chance for at the moment other Cichlids just seem too aggressive for my taste. I had enough chaos with the female betta I bought after research suggested that they female are way less aggressive than male. Not a chance.

    They stunning @top dog ...
Some of them look really big, more or less how old are they?

How bad does the war zone become?

@MariaS one of them is huge around 45cm and 14 years old he is called fishy, rest are all under 2 years old and made up of grand kids and great grand kids around biggest being 25cm

war zone not terrible as there is enough space and hiding spots for everyone plus fry do not last long at all, but better to avoid breeding in the tank for safety sake
