was just going through some old threads and members were talking about the same ol same ol that most pet stores sell and was wondering if one wanted something out of the ordinary and legal would one of the suppliers on the forum be willing to source it?

Can we be more specific as to what species are on the menu?

nothing specific springs to mind right now but there's a wealth of fish not kept at most pet stores that are legal i'm sure.

Dolphin (Quality Aquariums) can pretty much get anything you want, but the more exotic stuff tends to cost a bit!!

If you are after anything specific, ask him?

    Cheers!

I have, literally, spoilt the TASA members for choice of both exotic fish and plants...

It is had to find the exotic species I have put forward not just locally but in many countries abroad. Many of the fish and plants I offer are collectors items that people look for for many years and will never find in an LFS.

Look out for my "Exotics" thread and be sure to respond quick if anything different appeals to you...

Oscar... often the exotics do not have a common name... and you wouldn't recognise the common name in any case. This is why google, along with copy + paste needs to become your best friend.

Ideally you should use scientific names as that's how you correctly ID a fish or plant. A single fish might have several common names for eg butterfly plec.

Singapore & USA & EU & Asia supplier number 2 arriving this month.

    Agreed.

However, it's not all happy in the land of scientific names. Some species have several scientific names, others might lack proper (or revised) names, and others are getting changed a lot in the recent past. I think the Jack Dempsey is a good example of this, just type its common name into Google. And then the Blue Jack Dempsey... eish...

    Glad to hear. :)

This is why i generally try and use both scientific and common names when talking about a specific fish! Helps reduce confusion

Having said that, I am not always able to remember the Scientifics, or get onto google to find them!

    Regards
    G!
