Dont see many of these around....been on my mind and wanting to do it for a while

OK....so nearly finished this after many months of work.

Its actually a lot bigger than it looks......1.8m long x 50cm deep....BUT...its only 13cm wide (the exact width of a brick, and therefore the exact width of that internal wall)
Tank has been semi built into the wall (the stainless support brackets are there to prevent it tipping over should it be that way inclined).

Coupla shots with the "canopy" and without....(that "canopy" weighs about 30kg with all that cladding work on it and took me a bit of time to do). Will be doing all the electrics this weekend. Its going to have LED lighting built into the canopy, most of the wiring will be hidden away in one of the stainless posts...so should ook fairly clean. Got most of the stuff....the lights, rockwork, pumps etc.....must just sort it all out.

Still deciding what to put in it...and ideas?

Nice, I reckon its about 115L.
Are you going to plant it?

I think a nice school of 25-35 cardinal or neon tetras , with 10-15 dwarf hatchets and 10-15 corys and maybe 6 ottos or BN plecos(they might be a bit long thou)would look awesome in a lightly planted tank.

This has a lot of potential. With that length, I'd rather go for a long, high-current hillstream setup. A lot of danio-like fish, some hillstream loaches and/or catfish. But whatever you do, make a big, big school of very little fish!

salmon....ive been leaning that way too (although a lightly planted tank does appeal to me).....but a lot more friends have said to go with a "fast flowing" current setup with a school of fish.

Want to do some fancy rockwork in too......bit difficult due to the width

Looking nice man I suggest planting the whole middle section with lots of vallis one long row.

    And some fast moving fishes.

I hope that is 10mm glass and not 6mm.
i bilid a similar tank with a width of 200mm. when i filled it i noticed that the front and back warped by about 3cm. had to take it all down and installed cross braces.

Flippen stunning tank dude. I will always go the Rainbow root. How about 20 Threadfins in a planted set-up with some Corys for the bottom.

Nice build hey! I was thinking hatchet fish would look nice with danios.

Good looking tank, just a heads-up, with the windows so close you might pick up a problem with some algae. All the best with the setup, looking forward to the final product.

Figure eights are not the most graceful and might have trouble turning around when adult size.\

    Small tetras would look awesome

Woahh!! that is an amazing tank. Cant wait to see the end result. Post some more pics of the filter set ups and electrics.

ps: my vote goes to a shoal of cardinals and a few bristlenose.
