This is a very heavily planted tank that I just let grow. It has most of my Hongsloi in it.

Got it from Hillfox. I think the grain size is a bit big though. Not huge, but I guess it works.

Will I be able to get it from a normal plant nursery? I live in the free state.

I don't know... Perhaps try riversand from the nursery. Just make sure it hasn't got added chemicals.

That's cool, just be careful. Make sure the water isn't contaminated. Or bleach bath the rocks/stones/gravel before adding them to the tank to get rid of unwanted goggos.

@ Veegal - The PH in all the tanks is between 6 - 7. Mostly 6 though. I have 1 pair in each tank.

@ Madam - These are only a few of my tanks. I have about 20 on the go. 4 x 200l and upward and alot of smaller ones.

@ LiftCrazy - I love apistos. I am trying to get as many species as possible, so I can supply the local market. Some of the fish I have don't breed too often, but there are others that spawn like clockwork. I love apistos, they are such gems.

I have literally just unpacked my new Apistogramma Trifasciata!! Got 10 pairs from ALTUM. Let me just say this... AWESOME! They coloured up virtually the instant they hit the water! They are a beautiful baby blue/grey/white colour!! Oh man oh man oh man!! Looking forward to breeding these guys.

I have 3 pairs available to Joburg folks!!
