Sobo Vs Dolphin canisters

Hi all
I was wondering what is most recommended between the sobo and dolphin canisters filters. I'm considering either the sf 1500 and the dolphin c500. Has anyone had experience with either of these filters and how good is the actual flow rate ,noise etc .

 

only have experience with tiny models
had tiny sobo canister that was a nightmare, clamps to close where terrible, pump never restarted after load shedding
upgraded to a dolfin 300
much better construction, opening and maintenance far easier. hoping it lasts a fair amount of time

 

i can recommend the Dophin canister filters , spare parts are easily available and they they work well, the only down side is the primer pump membrane often breaks are a few years but is easy to bypass

 

I have only had my Dophin C1000 canister. It is running without any issue for it's 3rd year now. The flow is strong enough for anything but a fast flowing river setup, and is adjustable to a certain extent. Not sure about the smaller versions though.
