Sobo filter?

I'm looking around for canister filters, not decided on anything yet but I saw this and I've never heard of the brand. Does anyone know if it's any good?

I have the same as the photo, runs perfect. Only thing I did was change the green piping to a clear more stronger pipe as I did not like the green pipe it came with. Other than that I have not complaints on this filter.

 

What kind of price do they go for and where do you get them. I have never seen them around.

They do 1200L/H which isn't bad at all. If one looks at The Plex Casscade 1000 which is double the price and only does 1000L/H. The Plex has a prime function where as the SOBO has to be manually primed. Once this is done there is no need to do again if power goes off. I run a lot of SOBO products and pumps and haven't had any issues so far.

 

Only thing with SOBO, allow for additional media such as ceramic or carbon into your trays.

 

i run Sebo/sobo uplift pumps, had two already, they lekke pumps, good bang for buck

I know this is an old thread but I also want to buy myself one of these canisters. How many extra media (ceramic) would you recommend of buying extra to add to the trays?
