Aww, my bichirs don't come up on the list XD In terms of ease of care they should, but I guess they aren't all that popular because people find them scary, plus they are prone to eating small tankmates. I too agree with the choices, though I have only kept a few of the fishes on the list, being mainly interested in oddballs. Things like guppies, barbs, swords etc just bore me. I like fish with individual personalities :p

I don't entirely agree with that list... for eg, OSCARS as community fish? Don't think so!

@tracyp i was told many times do not keep oscars with other fish.
our accounts lady has one at her place but only 1! she wanted to give it to me
but not with my Guppies - my wife will kill me.
That be said, my father inlaw keeps an oscar with 8-10 parrot fish, then agian the parrots are MASSIVE
so a bit of mix reaction

That's just more or less a list of the common/freely available aqauarium fishes.

As @Zeiphex says, not much in the way of oddballs.

@BBQ - I have heard that Oscars and Bichirs can be good tankmates, provided that the Oscar is smaller, although not small enough to become bichir food XD
