After seeing the pics that Dolphin posted of the Discus,Some googling and seeing more Discus setups i Bought(read steal) a 1.8 meter tank and stand.
Front and one side is cracked(The idiots used laminated glass for one side and for the front).
I'll be replacing the front and side next week,Going to add a sump and the correct substrate.

LOL i can imagine that this will be a project over 3 to 6 months.

Sounds awesome Slojo, we'll be waiting for pics when it's set up )

Am looking into buying a bigger tank as well, think my little ones need some more space. Where did you get your bargain?

laminated safety glass, the manufacturer sandwiches a thin layer of flexible clear plastic film called polyvinyl butyral (PVB) between two or more pieces of glass. The plastic film holds the glass in place when the glass breaks.

Tempered safety glass breaks differently than regular clear glass. When tempered safety glass is struck it does not break into sharp jagged pieces of shrapnel-like glass as normal window panes or mirrors do. Instead, it breaks into little pebble-like pieces, without sharp edges.

laminated is called safety glass , tempered glass is called armor glass normally

tempered glass is made from normal float glass that once it has been cut to size goes through another heating prosses which toughens it , toughened glass can not be cut again.

Ahhh  I always wondered where 'armoured glass' came in as it sounded the same as the tempered glass :D My female side is showing now :D
