Silver arowana eating... Nori?

I feed my fish a good variety of foods, and my Pleco is well-fed on a mix of pleco logs, sinking pellets, any algae in the tank and a good selection of bogwood, and I throw in a off-cut of nori or cucumber every once in a while.

Recently I saw my arowana casually gulp down the nori portion intended for the pleco and its possible that this has happened before. The way to prevent this is to just add the nori after lights out, not a problem, but I wonder if perhaps this unorthodox accidental diet for the arowana is going to cause him some indigestion?

 

Hi Nirv. Nori is very hi in protein, much the same as the arowana's natural diet. Dont think you would have a prob. This is just logical thinking im by no means a Arowana expert.

 

Like above, don't worry about it. Wild arowanas occasionally get a mouthful of vegetation when they open their capacious mouths to snap up a fish or bug on the surface, and also when they do their famous leaps.

 

Thanks for the replies guys, I wasn't really worried as I've seen no ill effects, and some roughage won't be killing anyone
