    Ideally not.

Rather use the marine. It's non toxic, and handles wet conditions better. (Marine is designed to stay sumberged all the time where as the others are to prevent moisture ingression, but not act as a waterproofing agent.)

Having said that, I have also heard of people claiming that all bostik clear is the same stuff, and all their white silicon is the same stuff, just packaged differently for sale purpose. I cannot clarrify this at this stage.

Should be fine, Just make sure there is no anti fungus or anti bacterial agents included. If it is they will include it in the label.

Hi there. I just wud like ur guys and gals opinions. Which silicone is the best 2 use. I only believe in DEN BRAVEN silicone 4 large tanks as it sets more faster and is more stronger than the other makes. Is the BOSTICK MARINE also ok 4 large tanks.

@Happy fish ive used the bostik on my 124x50x50 tank. Had 2 replace frnt glass so thn just did whole tank over. And its stil holdng up with no probs. So ill say it will be ok and also the bracing helps to keep it together. So i dnt see why nt.

    NO, NO, NO GUYS,

Use only the silicone that is specified for the construction of aquaria. I put a considerable amount of effort into finding out about this a number of years ago. Why? Because it is the so-called silane content of the silicone rubber which makes them glue glass together, the rubber content only does the sealing. Only the aquarium sealers such as Bostick Marine and Dow Corning Aquaria have high enough silane levels to give an aquarium sufficient strength. I do not know the DEN BRAVeN brand but it has to specify glueing of aquariums or else it is not suitable. Even those with labels such as "glazing" are not adequate and the sealers such as those for baths and walls, the Bostik home types, are completely useless. So for the sake of flooding your homes, PLEASE ONLY USE THE AQUARIUM SEALERS!

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

    Hi Happy fish,

Just so that we have no misunderstandings here. Are you saying the Den Braven is specified for aquarium use, or are you saying that you have used it although it was not specified, but you have not had problems?

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

I only use the Bostik Marine because it's the only marine silicone out here. Works like a charm.
