You do get very small heaters. A 50 watt is very good but with regards to a betta bowl I am really not sure. I thnk you should maybe look at getting nano tank instead of a betta bowl. They are not the best way to keep bettas. Many people have had success with these but the temp fluctuates constantly and the fish are used to warm environments. In my opinion you should get a nano with dimensions of like 20x20x20 or even 20x15x15. The nice thing is that nanos are REALLY easy to make. All you need is glass and marine silicon. If you really want to keep your betta in a bowl make sure its always warm and then during the winter I would advise putting it in a floating tank or something untill the weather gets warmer but winter is still gonna be a while. I also beleive that you should run a small airstone in the tank so he can breathe. The labyrinth organ is not a primary organ, and they cant breathe out of it for ever. Do water changes every two or three days. If you do this then you can keep them in a betta bowl. maybe. this is all my opinion and some may disagree, but there you go.

Ask the sponsors to get you a 25W heater. They are pricey but nice and compact.
