Hi @Dougie, I breed Bettas as a hobby, and currently have over 200 fighters. There is really no java moss needed, bear bottom tank for baby`s Infusoria for 2 days, then newly hatched brine shrimp and some micro worms does the trick, you can check some of my pics out, I have healthy beautiful Bettas, and they realy thrive in a bear bottom tank:cool:

@HennieRoux , will check it thanx, a pair of my siamese spawned not so long ago, they spawned about 5 times if you know what i mean, the male wrapped him around the female squeezing the eggs out, the eggs falls to the ground , female is in a trans for couple seconds, the male goes back to the bubble nest and leaves the eggs on the ground, the female comes around and then goes to the eggs & eats it, and the male doesnt stop her, he just stays under the bubble nest and blows bubbles, is there a reason why he is doing this, or do i just have a blind male, lol,?

@Dougie some males are slow learners, and some just never catches on! If he does this more the 3 times, I would suggest not breeding him, I have a stunning 6-7 month old mustard gas halfmoon who does not even build a bubble nest and take no notice in females! Then I have 10 week old males that is all ready building nests, so they are all different! Invest in a couple of males and females, this way you are always ready for the next breeding try!

@HennieRouw, LOL, thanx for the advise, i have spawned him with another female today, very nice spawn, looks like he came to his senses, hehehe, his working hard putting all the eggs in the bubble nest and picking them up from the floor, so it looks good, this is my 2nd spawn, my 1st spawn was unsuccessful, made a few mistakes in the 1st spawn, but thats how you learn from your mistakes hey, :blink1:, as im still a beginner(Rookie), once again thanx for the advise:bigsmile:
