They are blacklisted (illegal) so you are not allowed to discuss them in the forums

Basically certain fish species as well as plant species have been added to the blacklist in South Africa and are therefore illegal. Mainly it is because they are not from SA and can cause havoc if let loose in our rivers etc, killing off our indigenous species and/or they multiply like crazy which in turn leads to MAJOR disasters. The rules of the forum state that no species listed on the blacklist are to be discussed on the forum...hence Carpings post.

PS: Come on guys, Henk is only doing what he is supposed to do as a moderator on this forum - he must ensure that the rules are kept and sometimes that makes him a 'bad guy'. Thank your lucky stars that you do not have that responsibility 'cause you may have to be the harsh one every now and again if you were. He really is sweet.......most times :) (wink wink)

As veegal says guys, please don't discuss outright illegal ornamental fish/plants/inverts on here.

Welcome Clyde, sorry we can't help you with regards to shrimp etc.
Henk is a moderator on this forum. If you have DSTV there are a number of good shows on NatGeo at the moment with regards to "snakeheads" etc. Quite informative and should help you understand why things are blacklisted.
