The problem is the LFS will probably sell it to you... but on this forum there are some people that will give you hell about it.

in view of the fact that the new list will come into effect next year, perhaps we could start discussing these - but obviously no discussion promoting their illegal trade by any LFS.

Okay with the Mods and Rory?

I agree since they will become available as from next year,People(me included) will then buy them.
We need the knowledge to keep them safely and healthy.

I tend to agree Phil... I think shrimp will make fantastic additions to our hobby... Not only will we be breeding Apistos, but we could breed shrimp too. (hopefully) Once again, supply and demand...

well glad i brought this up, i also think it would be great to discuss and understand how to care for them so that when we do get our hands on some we care for them and keep them alive which is the main point here keeping our livestock healthy

I agree, they are awesome. As soon as the are 'legal', I would love to set up a shrimp tank. Seen some examples of awesome setups on overseas forums.
PS: I am surprised this thread is still going. ROFL :wondering:

For interest sake. Does SA have indigenous shrimp? It seems like all the popular ones are from china, were they blacklisted for overpopulating our own species, or because they are somehow invasive to so me ecosystem or what?
