shovelnose vs pleco....

    saw this happening the at wholesale guys yesterday... the pleco is like half the size of the other one.... and he still ate it... plating and all....

    Tiger Shovelnose - Pseudoplatystoma tigrinum - gets to +60cm. will eat anyhting up to 3/4 its own body size

    trust me you dont... they all look pretty etc but WTF do you do with a 60cm fish... it needs a big tank

    I am actually waiting for the TSN's at my LFS to get large enough to go into the tank with my 13cm Jag cichlids :)

    Cant believe he actually chowed a Pleco.

    Welcome to January!

    TSN's eat much bigger fish than Pleco's. Try Oscars and Jaguars. They WILL go for anything that can fit in their mouth

    Thanks Henk for the pic. Was very close to give the shovel nose a try this weekend. The local LFS had some small ones and it is a atractive looking fish. I don't wonna think what he would have done with my plecos:eek:

    You put the TSN in which tank? The 430l?

    It's not big enough.

    its only 10cm now,
    Im planning a 2m tank in the next couple of months :)
