should i add my betta to the new tank?

ok so im getting super excited to see the tank filled and planted up but im not getting my females until sometime after the 27th. im going on holiday and want to be here when i introduce them so i can sort out any major fights that might happen while they sort out their hierachy. the peat is soaked and ready to be placed and theres nothing else to add to the rock arrangements so im now at a lose end with all this nervous energy and nothing to do with it lol. i am also nervous of where the tank is, its in a tv room i share with my brother who has some younger friends, theres wrestling and so on going on and the tank is on a low coffee table and i live in dread that someone will knock it off. now my question what do you guys think will happen if i add vulcan now? besides being deleriously happy over all the space, im worried he'll get all territorial on me. he's a very chilled lil dude, he lived in a community for 6 months and the first time i showed him his reflection he kinda just looked at it like oh hey theres another fish. he flares now but loses interest after awhile, mr aggresive he is not lol. so the chances are good he'll throw his toys out the cot at first and then just settle down and ignore the ladies. i know it would be better to wait for the ladies to get here before filling it but i swear the tank is begging me to get it finished and planted.

a practical reason for filling it is that i need to design the hood and need to see how much space i have to work with as theres a set of built in shelves that the tank is going to have to slide under ( see there is a practical reason im not just being impetuous)

so iv stated my case whats the verdict? if i can fill it i wana scape it tomorrow.

 

I stand to be corrected but think maybe it's better to wait. Probably not what you want to hear but the tank needs to be cycled (doesn't sound like it has any water in it at the moment). Plus it might be knocked in it's temporary spot. Also, I think if you add Vulcan first he'll claim the tank and may show more aggression to the females when they are added (I've never had females before so I'm just speculting here).

 

first cycle the tank .

add females first to the tank .
then condition vulcan and the females before you introduce him .

might be able to get them to breed that way , wich is the point of getting females ?
