    Hello all

    Nice to be back,but now the point

    I need a plant.....................A plant that doesnt grow high but spreads and covers most of the substrait.One that isnt a weed and is common amoungst pet stores.A plant that doesnt mind high or low lighting and is comfortable in any water type.Oh and grows profilicaly

    Java moss settup as a carpet and trimmed reguly. Should give the idee of a nicely cut lawn if taken care of.

    ...hair grass, preferably dwarf hair grass. the former should be fairly easily available.

    I've been looking for hairgrass for 2 weeks now. There's none available in the Roodepoort area. I beleive there is some in the PTA petstores.

    But, yes, this is a good plant... but Dolphin, doesn't it require high light? Mine is in lowish to medium light, and grows VERY slowly.

    i am also looking for dwarf hair grass, any ideas for the CT area?

    That's why I suggested Java, only one that meets all his requirements.

    ok java moss sounds good but could you elaborate on the trimming part please? wouldnt the remains fly around the tank?

    Yes it will and then some :)

    Will post a link, look at the last few pages and you will see a way of doing it a little neater. Create a few panels with the Java moss you can take out,trim,rinse and just put back.

    The pics on that page the netting is still visible but will be completely covered soon enough.
