@WernerP I also have a Neolamprologus multifaciatus breeding colony, but i want to know how the hell do you catch them without removing all of your shells?

My tank is heavily stocked. When I catch, the breeders duck into their shells and then the rest are fair game. I prop a net on the substrate and just herd the rest in that direction. I usually end up with more in the net than I need.

I have tried catching fish that were hiding in shells by elevating it so it's close to the surface but never had much luck. I just ended up selling them shell and all. I've seen some guys on YouTube shake them out of the shells, but I've always been worried about trapping them in there with an air bubble.

they are buggers to catch, i struggle to find shells so I am not keen to sell them with the shells. I have read that if you elevate the shells they come out, but you confirm that doesn't work.

@WernerP hey bud, I just want to say thanx for the stunning fish, they are happy and healthy. I am still waiting for them to go down to the shells, I think they got used to swimming mid to top of the tank lol, but they it's still early days also.

    Pleasure Cliff.

I'm glad to hear that they are doing well. It's hilarious to think that they haven't realised the shells are all theirs now! Shouldn't take long though.
