    Hi guys, I recently bought the last 3 rams at my local aquarium store, however I'd obviously like to make complete mating pairs, only problem is I'm not 100% sure on how to sex them, to me its seems there's 2 males and one female, please, any pros out there, am I correct? Also how do you tell the difference?

    @Cale24 ?

    To me the first pic looks like a male and the 2nd like a female? 3rd male.

    I would agree with the first 2.
    Not quite sure about the 3rd though

    Best tell is the anal fin in side profile - if it reaches into the tail area, then its a male. First one looks male (often get a pointed anal fin, females rounder).
    Can't say for sure re the other two, although I would guess male second pic, female third pic.

    2nd Pic female.

    3rd possible male.

    1st, fins say male but the body is abit deep like a female.

    I'm so sorry to add to this confusion but usually sub dominant males can look like females too. First is definitely a male second I would say male because the anal fin even though not as large as specimen 1 there is a point at the tip. The third I cannot tell from that pic

    Edit: dorsal fin on the second one is also pointed

    Not easy to identify male and female with these colors. See my sapphire /blue knights. On the left is the female, bad Pic but zoom and you'll notice the point on the dorsal fin. She has a deep body. Right is the male, notice the elongated "torpedo" shape.
