    Hello.
Not sure if it should be posted here....

The LPS near me has finally got fertilizer for aquatic plants but havent read that anyone has been using it. So my question is, has anyone used the sera florena fertz and any comments? Its all they have so i got a bottle of it. Small town sucks.

Sera is a well know German aquatic brand, I'm sure you will be fine using it, I use their test kits and Arowana food, been happy with both.

Thanks will have a look at what they have. Might as well use the sera seeing as though that was sort of an impulse buy...

Sera is an okay brand, but there much better brands when it comes to ferts
Scape, seachem, etc. Maybe buy a bottle of something else and alternate. But I would just finish the sera. It wasn't free.

How do you guys come to the conclusion that one is better than another, do you have controlled studies, or is it merely an opinion?

We used Sera ferts for about 2 months which were actually kindly given to us by a fellow member of this forum.
The expiry date was way gone by but... we took a chance.
The tank has Anubias, Java Fern, Amazon Swords and another plant which I am not sure of the name,
The growth was excellent, the roots on Anubias and fern are strong and healthy. The other plants don't do so well but....not the ferts fault... Flag Tail and Geos are to blame...
We have bought Seachem and Scape now, to try on separate tanks as the LFS close to us didn't have Sera range

I used sera root tabs. It was much cheaper than anything else. Thought it produced nice growth until I tried seachem flourish tabs. What a difference! Flourish tabs made my plants grow fast and lush! I also used the tetra root tabs with great results. The waterlife pond tabs and sera performed the worst in my tank. I'm using osmocote now with some very pleasing results.
