    Okay so I got the Seachem PH alert maybe a month ago. It worked great for the first few days then all of a sudden the middle turned a brown colour that does not match up? I made sure not to touch the middle at all when i put it in the tank. I am not happy at all with this at all. Has anyone else had this problem?

    That's because anything posted in the equipment review subforum needs to be approved by a moderator.

    @Fishie Mitchie - Is there any chance that the brown colour might be algae growth?

    Definetly not algae, I was considering that at one point but with a closer look at it i found out it was the thing that is supposed to change colour, the center.

    Anybody know what colour the monitor is supposed to go when it's exhausted? I had a look at mine last night after reading this thread and 2 of mine are orange and 1 is now "brown".

    @oupoot I think you could be right with the tannins... Shouldn't there be a warning or something then?

    I have been soaking a peace of driftwood for about 4 weeks and still getting tannins, just do regular WC and more regularly to prevent a build up of tannins that can harm you fish, HTH.

    anybody correct me if im wrong....

    @oupoot

    I am not aware that Tannins can harm your fish in any way.
    There are discus lovers out there that actully love the tannins effect for the fish

    The fish in nature live in these conditions.

    I think we can let @Seachem come and answer this question. They are sponsors of the site, and would be more than willing to answer your questions rather than us all speculating.
