the palmfiber peat blocks you will get at any big garden center - ditto for the chemicult. i am using 3 block of the fiber peat on my 2.5 so 1 should do for what ever you have planned...

soak the block in a bucket or water with 1 table spoon checmicult in the water - the blocks expand into a peat fiber

ok , gonna use it in my 1.2 that will go up after the lounge renovations are finished, how long does this last ? or will i have to add checmicult to the water after water changes and vacuums ?

no no - the chemicult gets absorbed by the fiber - it should last for a very long time - aslong as you add some of dirks drops to the water :D

Remeber to cap all plant substrates

capping means you put sand (normally pool filter sand or river sand) ontop of the feeding substrate to prevent leaching which leads to algea....

sorry if my posts dont make sence - i got flu and a seriously high fever

It actually works pretty well in fish tanks if you soak the peat in it.....

Henk, could you possibly give us a link or two to sites where this substrate has been used?
I am quite interested in finding out more about it.
    Thanks.
