Yes, we do... I know that Liaquat had some a while back and I've seen it in the LFS up here in Joburg...

Pricey? Compared to conventional test kit?

    Reliable?

    How long does it last?

Sounds very promising, but do they remain accurate as time goes by?

    No idea, thus the questions.

Depending on the cost, if it last six months I would be happy.

I'm generally not THAT bothered with accuracy either, it can only go so wrong after all.

It does last 6 months according to them. I've got a few in some of my tanks and it's pretty accurate. But doing 50% weekly water changes does keep my tanks stable...

    Cost is about R100 per.

On Seachem's site it says they do not recommend this for acidic soft water, probably because it doesn't work, much like most ph test kits and cheap meters. So I guess I'm out then...

That is the current price for Flourite... It's still more expensive than at a LFS in joburg...

    R330 a bag?
I paid R225 for my 7kg bag a while back, but haven't seen any since :(

As for the Seachem monitors, I've used both the ammonia and the pH ones.
I got rid of the pH monitor after a few months because it took on an odd colour that wasn't indicated, and the ammonia one wasn't doing anything since my water stabilised.

I've still got another Ammonia monitor if anyone in PTA or Midrand is looking for one.

I got it from a buddy that came to SA on holiday from Belgium, so the cardboard has been trimmed, but it's still sealed otherwise. I paid about R150 for it in May, so R100? I don't know how much they sell for at the moment though.
