Hey guys I have purchased Scape Complete and Carbon for my low-tech system. The dosing states every single day. But the current plants I have are basically Anubia and Aponogeton Longiplumulosus (Which are root intensive feeders) which I use root tabs for.

And since I have a Flowerhorn he's a messy fish so there should be a lot of nutrients in the tank, but I want to give my plants that extra boost using these ferts. Any suggestion for a fert regime using Scape Complete and Carbon

It might be easier to go with a different approach - dose based on plant health. Identifying the actual deficiency is a bit tough at times, so i'd stick to dosing with an All-In-One fert like Complete. Liquid Carbon is more of an algaecide than anything else, even though it is an intermediary in the CO2 reaction cycle, so i'd dose this sparingly. Maybe a full dose after each water change if you really want to, but it can also be detrimental to plant health.

There is a limit to how fast a plant will grow, even when provided all of the necessary requirements (ferts, CO2, light etc), and dosing might not give any increase in growth as you are already limited by going low-tech.

Personally, i'd stick with using root tabs around the Aponogetons, and keep an eye on the Anubias to see if any deficiencies arise. You might get lucky and find that they continue trucking along, and not need to dose at all. If something does happen, slowly start dosing and increasing the size/frequency of dosing until the problem stops/disappears. Then stick with that dosing until something starts looking unhappy. Then rinse and repeat

Thanks, yeah I hope the fish provides enough waste/nutrients for the Anubia the Aponogetons I got covered with various root tabs. Just don't know how much they take up through their leaves.

Plants take nutrients from wherever they can get it. From what i've read about on other forums about EI dosing, it doesn't matter where the nutrients are as long as they are in the system and the plant has direct contact with them.

You might find that the Aponogetons will have a much larger root system if you don't dose, as they will grow in search of nutrients. I've found this to be true in a personal capacity because when i was dosing my crypt-dominated tank quite heavily, the roots were comparatively smaller than when i didn't dose at all. This isn't really a problem though, as the roots will help to oxygenate the substrate and keep it from compacting. The mulm from the flowerhorn will also be a great fertiliser once it builds up a bit.

Cool, I noticed my Anubia growing extremely slowly, like one new leave every 3 months hence I started dosing. I know they grow slowly but not THAT slowly.
