    Hi friends and family

After quite a few years of keeping fish I have decided to scale down from 18 to 2 aquariums. There is a very long story behind this disision but the short version is that I lost my passion. It has actually been a long time comming.

I will still check in on the forum from time to time as the interest is still there.

Thanks for everybodys input and support for the last few years. A lot of you became family to me without knowing it. Keep your passion going and keep on having happy aquariums.

    Pierré

Good to hear that you are doing the sensible thing ... scaling down -the knowledge gained and shared is invaluable and thanks for allowing us to be part of it. People do not realise it but when you go past a certain mark in any hobby it can be dangerous ;-)

Not saying cheers - just later ...

All the best for the rest period, and we hope to see you in the not too distant future.
Your advice and knowledge has been invaluable for many of us.

I hope you are keeping the Chocolate Gourami and your Rainbows going.

    Noooooo.

A shame but know what you feel Pierré. I decided yesterday to downsize my tanks as well (coincidence?)

Please keep in contact. Enjoyed our contact very much.

    Take care mate !

    @Pierré Schoonraad

Sorry to hear. But I guess if you aren't getting the enjoyment from the tanks, then there is no point in continuing for the sake of it.

    Thanks guys and girls.

I will defnitly keep the Chocs, just too much sentimental value. The cube have a betta in it. As things work I'm keeping the 3ft shellie tank as well. At least all 3 aquariums will fit on the same stand and won't take up more space than what I planned for.

Unfortunately I'm letting the rainbows go. It's heart breaking to let them go as well as the panaque. They have basicly been part of my life in this hobby.

Don't worry I will not completely. With what I'm keeping I still have 2 threads which I will update every now and again.

Regarding the knowledge I shared, thanks. But in reality I think I p...... off more people than which I helped. Most of what I have done is trial and error. Don't let anything stop you to explore. Keep going but know when to slow down or stop.

If you need a home for the Rainbows, I will gladly assist.
I have always had a soft spot for them.

Hey welcome back ... ;-) 3 is still more than what most have the chance to play with so it still has real street credibility.

I alway argue - in a public forum is ie better to p.... off than on. Maybe that is just me.

You have a valid point on regarding the off rather than on. At this moment I'm actually fitting as much as I can on only 1 stand

Hahhha.. 3 tanks is still MTS... glad you will still be updating those, look forward to updates on the Gouramis, I think those little guys grew on many of us.

As for p... people off... well... honesty and straightforwardness does that sometimes... I have probably done the same a good couple of times.. on the bight side.. sooner or later people learn that you were right...

Actually it's 4 tanks but the last one doesn't count as it's planted only, with some shrimp.

    That sounds like me.
I had 12 tanks running, with 1 x 4ft in the lounge as a display tank, and 11 in my office.
    2 x 3ft tanks on a rack, with another rack with 1 x 2ft and 2 x 1.5ft tanks.
    On my desk I had 1 x 2ft, 2 x 1ft tanks, and in a corner behind a cupboard another 1 x 1.5ft and 2 x 1ft tanks.

I currently have 5 tanks running.
    The 4ft in the lounge, 1 rack with 1 x 3ft, 1 rack with 1 x 3ft and 1 x 2ft, and a single 1.5ft on a stand in the corner.
So far nothing on my desk.

I am looking at adding a 3ft to the rack with a single 3ft on it.
Finances and other factors are limiting that at the moment.
