Sailfin pleco Changing Colours

    Hey guys, I have recently gotten a sailfin pleco for my lfs, he was very light when I got him, and 2 hours into my tank he has dark patches all over his body, it doesn't seem to be going away. Is this something to be alarmed about?
    He is housed with 12 malawi Cichlids
    He has a good choice of drift wood in the tank

    My parameters are perfect all is at 0. So this is extremely confusing...

    Normal for them to have nice dark intense color. When they are stressed they go light.

    Colours and intensity can change according to stress level, excitement, sleep, or a host of other factors, and even to some extent depending on the environment (some fish appear more 'washed out' over very light gravel, for example).

    Nothing to worry about here.
