Rosy finned tetras torn fins

I have 2 rosy finned tetras a male and female. They have been courting for awhile now but they both now have torn fins they were a bit violent lately circling and smashing into each other is this the cause? It doesn't look like fin rot, they look pertfect except for their fins they look like punk fish. All the other fish are fine its just the rosy finned tetras. Thanks
