    Hey guys

I was watching a gardening show on dstv today.I am not into gardening really but could not find the remote in my immediate surroundings (bed). Anyway they made some fountain using rive sand in the mould and i thought it would look really cool in my tank which currently has pool filter sand. The river sand grains looked the same in size, only difference was it is orange/reddish in color. Anyone know where i could buy this?

Thanks mattie, does anyone know if this sand clumps up or does it remain loose like the pool filter sand

I've used river sand in several tanks with great success over several years, you will need to put effort into washing it as its usually very dusty.

Also, different river sands are sold in different areas - the kind I got is mainly white with lovely tiny round pebbles in shades of brown. It really looks very natural and rivery....

I just called all the stodels in my surrounding areas and stark and ayres, stodels only has the white and stark says theirs is almost black... :(

Hey Tracy, where did you get yours?

I got mine at our local farmers co-op in the nursery section - I really got lucky because it was old stock and the bags were broken so I offered to take all the stock if they would give me a good price (which they did!).

So, that's not much help I'm afraid! It sounds like you're in Cape Town (could you update your profile for us please? It helps in situations like this one!) - You could try Superplants? I'm trying to remember other nurseries in your area...

Yea I have seen Tracy's sand and it is a lovely natural look. I have to say I was tempted to get some from her when I saw her last time :p

@slogz please update your profile and we can see if we can help you find some.
