    Hi all,

Just bought an 86l Boyu tank to return to the hobby after 5 years! The tank has got T5 lights put in along with the original filter. My plan is to run a low tech planted aquarium.

Could someone help me identify these plants?

Also, some assistance with stocking would be great! I currently have 5 juvenile angels and a SAE in there. Looking at getting some neons and maybe some Corys.

Plants from left to right, that I can identify:
    Microsorum Pteropus (Broadleaf Java Fern)
    Egeria Densa (Canadian Waterweed)
    Anubias Barteri (Anubias)
The stem plant in the front right of the tank could be Ludwigia Repens.
Not sure about the broad leaf plant in the foreground. It looks plastic or synthetic.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds as if those plants will do well in the lighting I have. Now to sort out the stocking...

Hi @nealos6 cool, not often we see a cylindrical tank!
Do you have a larger tank in the pipeline for as your angels grow up?
    Corys would be cool!

I'll probably trade them for something once they get too big. The long term goal is to house some Rams.

So I added another internal filter to the tank just to build up some beneficial bacteria on it before I move it to another project I am going to start. How long will it take before it collects a sufficient amount of bacteria?

If you seed with something like Seachem Stability or Scape BacUp, the recommended waiting period is 8 days.
They suggest you can add fish immediately, but need to complete the 8 day treatment.
I usually add 1-2 fish after the 8 day seeding period, then another 1-2 a week after that, and keep doing that until I have reached the stocking levels I want.

The Boyu tank pictured above was already cycled. Sorry I was unclear in my question. I added a brand new internal filter to the Boyu in order to build up some beneficial bacteria before I move the internal filter to a 60l tank.

I reckon the same principles apply. Seed the 2nd filter in the Boyu for a week (it will help greatly) but when you move it across to the new tank, add Stability for 8 days and still be careful about how many fish you add initially. Build up the stocking levels gradually and add a single dose of Stability whenever you add more fish.

Post an update pic of the Boyu!

I agree with @A new day , except i would let that filter seed for 2 weeks... I just always rather be safe than sorry

Then once you move it across, still do the 8 day Stability
Add fish slowly, not too many at a time and with a few days interval
