    Hi All,

I'm thinking about starting up again after about 30 years. I have a 15 year old 180l glass tank that was bought for carniverous plants. These plant are long gone, so now I want that tank for tropical fish again. I kept two tanks for most of my teen years and they only quit when I was away for national service.

    Welcome to TASA

I would suggest that you just test the tank before using it. Fill it up with water for a week or two outside and make sure the silicone is still decent. Otherwise just reseal the tank before using it :)

Thanks Angie I will do that. I'm still doing research, there's been some surprising changes in the hobby in the last years. I'll be posting some questions into the beginners forum soon.

    Errrm .... a new one?

Sorry, at this point all I know is that I will probably go for a tropical planted community tank, as this is what I have had in the past. Still looking at options.
