    hi guy/gals

    i have 4 discus for sale.
    Long story short i once keep discus and a buddy of minesfish were in poor health.. he broughtthem to me as a last resort to save them. since i have received the littlerascals they are doing very well they eating like machines, even taking foodout of my hand. They need to go to good homes guys. he since then has lostinterest and wants me to give them to the pet shop but im sure i will findsomeone on here that’s more suitable BUT it must happen fast i can’t keep upwith the water changes and feedings work load is hectic.

    i think one red or blue turquoise and a pigeon blood mix 5 -6cm
    1 wild green tefe "big bugger" at least 12cm
    1 looks to be snake skin ;D

    will post pics later pm me if interested cape town onlyguys!!
    i will trade for plants i don’t have or you can just buythem, i won’t ask for much for the fish.
    Preferably someone that has kept discus in the past

    Hi

    @lc3786455

    Just a small clarification - The Discus in the last Pic is most definitly not a Snakeskin. To be more specific it is probably an offspring of some cross, as the markings and overall colour is not consistant with any strain. It is still young and colour will still come as it grows. I would bet it would probably resemble a red turq, or very close to it. It IS however a very nice looking fish, and from the size of the eyes this young guy will still grow and seem in really good health. Well done on that.

    The Green listed in the Pic is also most probably not a "real" Tefe Green. . .again, my comment not meant to "devalue" the fish at all. In South Africa we often get fish "labelled" Tefe Green's, when in actual fact they are from other regions (Rio Nanay, Japura). This is done because in general Tefe green's are the most sought after of all Wild Green's. They usually tend to have slightly better shape, colour and fin development, with also a very prominent "Halo". I am thus not saying that this is NOT a Tefe, merely implying that it is highly unlikely. It is however good news for any intended keeper as Tefe's are among the most difficult Discus to keep. It places very high demands on its keeper and if not kept in absolute pristine water, it will slowly wither away. This is however a very nice fish, as are ALL Green Discus.

    Useless info for those interested.

    Kind Regards

    Marco

    hi marco, thanks for your comments they are most welcome!
    i pride myself on excellent water quality not just with discus but with all my fish. as said in the intro these fish were in shocking state the "green tefe" tale was half missing along with the others and were solid black. im just glad they are in good health and hopefully going to good homes, however i am taking them to the fish store this weekend as i can keep them any longer! all i can do is hope for the best that they will be ok. i have grown fond of them as anyone would when you nurse such majestic creatures back to health.

    i also agree with you that the last pic will be a stuning discus he/she has a very thick forhead and perfect round shape and as stated a small eye so no stunting there. also he/she is developing a "halo" stunning
