Redoing koi pond

Hey guys

Thought I would just make a thread on one of the jobs we are currently doing.
I will add pics as soon as I get the camera but for now I will just let you know what's happening.

Our customer has a 3x2 koi pond. The koi pond is actually a shell pool converted.
He had a leak which drained it by 30cm a day. The leak was situated on
One of the steps. The owner went out and bought one of those intex
Pools to temporally keep his koi in.


anyway's, after discovering where the leak was we realized that it was
Worse than expected. The bottom of the 'koi pond' had basically created a
Big water bubble which had to be removed, by that I mean the whole
Bottom. Day by day the pool is now FILLING up due to the rain seeping
Through the ground and day by day it must be drained.

As far as I know we are laying down a 50mm base of concrete, refiberglassing whole koi pond, repainting and removing the steps.
Been told from our suppliers that the material are koi friendly.

Will post pics as we go along but might take sometime as the water just never ends

ask the guy if you guys can make the koi pond deeper - 2M is the optimum depth for a koi pond

Are you replacing the bottom drain with a proper bottom drain?

Sounds like Henk approved the replacement drain.

 

Pond is done, took a long time due to water seeping through the bottom the whole time.
Unfortunately our customer lost 3 of his big koi yesterday.
