I know this should have been done 2 months ago but was so busy sorting out the new tank fighting off itch and venturing into plants that I missed this part. I have just taken up the hobby again after many years probably about 10 years after wiping out my entire guppy popultion when I was 11 quite horrific to be honest all caused by soap and no spare tank:( now I'm a 21 year old BCom Accounting sciences student(3rd year) Took up keeping fish as I'm very limited to time with the studies and really miss fishing and this is the compromise and I'm loving it more and more everyday. I'm the person who asks a lot of questions and loves to diy. Once I have learned enough to help out here and there that's what ill be doing. Thanks for everyones help on the forum who has helped me out from fighting itch to sorting out aeration vs filtration power outages and FINALLY establishing my planted tank I just want to say thank u and hello to all.

hey welcome .... what is it with people and soap ? Second person today (yes I talk about fish in real life) that mentioned soap and fish keeping in the same sentence ... do people seriously wash fish bowls with soap? Now that is a good reason to insist all aquariums should have some form of live plants, nobody every tries to wash a living plant with soap.

hmm might be overreacting - Welcome snyper564

Yip they love the silverware sadly had to part with the pleco and CAE they were wreaking havok in the planted tank and would have got to big anyway. I never used soap ever again im so paranoid with anything in the fish water i rinse my hands again and again just incase. HAHA on sunday a hornet managed to get into the water with a lid on and the hatchets attacked it took it out immediately didnt want any fish harmed. Thanks for all the welcomes this is a really great forum

Hello snyper564 - I have a soap/cream on hands almost phobia, resulting in not using hand cream in summer(or maybe just lazy) and only occasionally in winter. I make sure I wash my hands thoroughly clean before they go into the tank. These fish are driving me excessive compulsive behaviour
