I was wondering how many of us are keeping/breeding/wanting Rams?

I don't think a TASA Ram Group exists - may be wrong - but it would be cool if there was enough interest. We could share our experience with Blue/Golden/Bolivian/Whatever Rams.

Please post here if you agree or have an interest.

I LOVE rams! Am in the process of building a breeder setup, which I will most likely use for rams. Going to have 4 breeding tanks, the question is not whether I will have rams in one or some of the tanks, question is whether it will be ALL rams.

I would join a Ram group.

@DarylA, as you know I am waiting for a pair from your breeding stock, because I too want to breed Rams. I absolutely love them, they are such stunning little fish...

I'm a yes on the group too...

I have 3 currently and they have spawned twice but is still learning that they don't hatch if you eat them :)

I'm glad to see that there is at least some interest!

@Skye01 I received my Rams last Thursday and they are settling in nicely. They have a bit of growing to do and I am going to give it a while for pairs to form. Lol, I have not forgotten that you are first in line and will keep you posted.

I got a really nice pair today... It was nice to meet you Daryl! Hahaha! Cool coincidence. Anyway, they look really healthy. Stunning fish. I love Rams.

Bolivian Rams are definitely the easier of the 2 types to keep, but the Ramirezi are just much nicer looking fish.

@Sean J Lol, yeah it was a crazy coincidence! It was good to meet you too.

Those Rams did look surprisingly healthy but it was typical LFS staff telling you that your PH is too low! Not a bad guy, but typical!

I must still go check out the wood you mentioned.

Good luck with the pair and keep us updated.

I saw the most stunning rams at Pet Stop - @Moolis would be able to tell you if they still have some in stock. They actually spawned in the shops holding tank!

@Lizid I am keeping the current Rams for breeding stock but if all goes to plan then I will be able to offer in the not too distant future!

I still need to visit Pet Stop as I have never been there.

@DarylA, thanks for remembering.... I'm also interested in going to see Pet Stop, so if you are keen, maybe we can go together...?

You guys are making me so jealous!!! I wanted to buy a pair from Loolilocks the other day, the day after the shipment landed, but I just don't have the space right now :sad2:. I'm on the hunt for another 2ft tank at the moment so that I can put a pair in there to breed...

    Please post pics guys...

Here are a couple of pics of a beautiful Ram that I had many years ago, sorry for the kak quality, I was still learning about taking pics...

I bought 4 from loolilocks after the shipment came in.

Lost one though, but the other two females are spawning week after week.

Usually they will form a pair with the male and spawn.
In this case the male made a little nest and whoever has eggs to deposit is welcome to the nest apparently. They are still young and need some parenting skills.
I just need to see which two is the best compatible and put them in a breeding tank where the other fish won't come and eat most of the eggs.
