    Hi everyone

Hope everyone is fine. I have this rack that I build and have some glass left from an other project. So I started building this tanks out of the glass. I stil have 3 sets to build like this one but ran into a problem. When I put a peace of polistireen as long as the tank over the rack. In the middel where the racks meet is a bump. What can I do. I'm afraid the bottom glass is going to crack. Any idees or plans will be appreciated please. I spent allot of money just to ran into this problem

As long as bump is less than half the thickness of polistireen it should not be a problem. However if you want you can double polistireen. Bigger concern if both side is the same angle. If there is a slight angle difference between sides of shelving glass will try and bend to fit contour. That will never end well. need straight edge length of shelving to check if both sides line up. If not loosen bolts and adjust till it lines up.

Simplest way to ensure a continuous flat surface is to put on a sheet of wood, marine ply or shutter ply.

Are you bolting the stands to the wall?

I would definitely recommend bolting to wall in at least 2 place at top. If that shelving tilts forward.....

    Agree with the others.
Definitely attach the rack to the wall. Don't want it falling over.

    Also agree with Dolphin.
Put some sort of continuous wood or plastic sheet over the length of the shelf. And then some polystyrene over that.
