    i think i paid like R400 for my 35cm one... not worth much and you dont ever really see them in a black pond unless they are swimming above the other fish

    Which are the koi that go 4 ridiculous prices, I'v heard the amount of colour and definition of the patches plays a role..

    +1 Pure Black Koi ,Size about 1 to 1.5 Meter will go for more than R50 000.

    Rising Sun ?????? Who knows for what price they will go in SA.:sick:

    LOL,true.Mainly it is size and the fact that they are scarce.Met someone that is experimenting with crossbreeding with common carp and koi to get the color.(hopefully he'll succeed or maybe a new colour variant?)

    dont be surprized, if theres a drainage system = monitar lizzard well atleast in this part of SA

    i will not hesitate to shoot a monitar lizzard trying to make lunch out of my koi's. i have caught one by hand but its not the smartest thing to do, the tail is nothing in comparison to the bolt cutter mouth and nails
