This isn't really a query... it's just something I need to share with you about your fish food. Hope you don't mind it being posted here.

I think you should start making cat food aswell.

The minute I opened the bag of granules I purchased from you, my cat went crazy. At first I wasn't entirely sure why... then I realised it was the fish food he was after.

So last night I messed a teensy bit on the counter and decided to put it on my finger and give it to him... well, did he nearly take my finger off!

Seriously Prof. I think you should make cat treats or something like that :D

Thanks for the food etc. The Java fern looks lovely and the fish are loving their food big time!

    Hi Linxie,

If you smell my fish food and I think it is the granules that you are talking about then you can smell the fishmeal. These granules contain herring meal and this is why it smells. This sort of fishmeal ensures the high protein content. So, yes, your poor cat thinks that his lucky day has come......

Glad to hear your fish are enjoying it though and that the plants that I sent you are to your satisfaction.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

Aah yes, that must be what he's smelling. Kinda reminds me of fishpaste o.0

Yes thank you. I realised too late that I ordered the really small granules, but they'll do for now. I'll order some more when you get back along with some moss.

Enjoy your trip Dirk and keep well :)

    Kind regards

    Lindy

Linxie you are actually very close to where I am - I stock Prof Dirk's food for him as well to make it easier for collection for those people living on the 'otherside' of the world, if you are interested. :)

I don't think the pet shops keep stock of his food. (I may be wrong, but I've never seen it there)

Get some from Veegal or from the Prof. himself when he returns :)

Linxie is right, its not available anywhere other than from the Prof himself or Veegal/Zafgak. They are distributing for him in this neck of the woods as the Prof does not have a lot of spare time to handle all the requests!!

The Prof actually imports this food from Europe, and the frozen foods are of a much higher quality than the stuff you get in the local LFS's!!

Also, the dried foods he has available are excellent, and he also does some excellent plant ferts which he has developed himself!! Particularly good for soft water areas like the western cape!!

The best thing about the Profs stuff is that it is significantly cheaper, or at worst similarly priced to the LFS stuff, but still higher quality as mentioned!!

I highly recommend all the stuff he uses, and have seen the results in my own fish improving in colour, and in some cases breeding!!

    Hope that helps??

    Cheers
    G!
