Pretoria Aquarium Fanatics Meetup

If anyone is still interested in having a social event for the Pretoria Aquarium fanatics let me know and we can organize, I am still interested in meeting you guys. But since my original thread "vanished" PM me if you are interested and I will give you the details. I wont be able to reply here directly due to my posting limit of two posts per day.

If you know of any other Pretoria members that might be interested please point them in the right direction (This Thread) so we can get the ball rolling on this. I am aiming for the 28th August (Saturday) or the 29th August (Sunday) that way everyone can plan well in advance for it. You guys just need to tell me what day would suite you best, I am figuring we start off at like 9 the morning and end it off at around 13:00. Then we either go for a braai at my place or have lunch somewhere. And take note this is strictly not just a shopping trip, even if you dont have any cash you can still come along and see all the local places you can get your fishy goods from.

 

Not bad so far. We could get more people. Braai sounds good to me.

Slight problem, have to work on the 28th. If the day suits everyone else then let me know will try take the day off. Shouldn't be a problem to get it off.

Will see if i can get anyone else to tag alone.

 

Well these dates aren't set in stone we need dates that would suite everyone.

Commendable effort to get something going - thanks for that.
While I would not be particularly interested in visiting LPS's I would love to meet you guys over an afternoon braai.

Okay guys seems there is a massive interest in this so lets do this right the first time so here it goes, if you are interested in attending this please pm me I cant reply to the thread due to me being limited in the numbers of posts per day by the moderators. But it is not going to stop me from organizing us an event. Okay someone suggest we go to the Pretoria Zoo because they have a excellent aquatic display which really is a good idea but due to the location and area which is not the safest of places to walk around but maybe we can do something for the next meetup.

I am also bringing a camera along so we can document this and show the other people what they will be missing so I hope you guys aren't camera shy if you have issues with this please let me know thanks. So here is the details for the meetup:

Date: 28th August 2010 (Saturday)

Time: 9:30

Place: I was thinking my complex then everyone can leave their cars here as there is a security guard on duty and its a secure complex. I will PM my address details and telephone details for those needing it.

So my general idea for those of you who do not know we will be taking a trip to all our local [insert words that may not be mentioned in forum here]. So expect to drive around a bit not much though +- 60km. But I think we can pile into 1 or 2 cars depending on how many we are, and from there on I will navigate us to all the hang out spots for us fish-keepers.

I was thinking of a braai at my place depending on how many we are if I see we are to many at the end of the day I think eating somewhere would be nice having a lunch at the local spur (Atterbury Value Mart) would be nice while we have a good chat and a laugh.

So who is in?

Please PM me with suggestions ect, I will get someone else to post important information if push comes to it.

Cheddar has not replied yet I send everyone a message who showed interest giving all the details. If you guys know of any locals who would like to join please let them know. Want to show the rest of the forum how a social event should be run. I also want to make this a regular thing and build the local fish keeping community through personal interaction (because lets face it, its never going to happen here) and when you need a helping hand or someone to come help you then you know who to call on when you have a fish emergency.

So lets make this happen fellows.
