    Hi Guys,

    I need help!!! I have a L 150cm x W 50cm x H 50cm mirror aquaruim custom made.I fitted the Juwel 3D Rock background with the Root in the middle,therefor I will be doing a U Shape scape.Its 375 LT tank.
Running a TETRATEC EX1200 Cannister filter.I have to upgrade more on the lights as well.Currently 2 T5 40w.

I also would like to go pressurized C02.I have been looking around and found SERA system....Its very expensive only 500g bottle Only one pressure gauge and no Solenoid valve so that I can run the C02 on a timer with the lights.Hillfox has a PRODAC disposable system, but it looks like a fish killer to me.I need a GOOD Regulator with dual gauges and Solenoid valve with a 2KG bottle,C02 diffuser, check valve and C02 tubing anyone please HELP???

    Thanks

Don't bother with the Sera kit. The only worthwhile piece of equipment is the bubble counter

Rather look at marine setups for Calcium reactors and the Co2 that drives them

There's nothing wrong with the sera kit - the reducer fits on one of the Sodastream bottles so it makes is easy to replace the co2

So what will a CO2 system cost - reducer bottle etc etc .... cause i have a 1.2 in the making and would love to have plants that grow instead of dying all the time.

    Imported from ebay regulator + tubing + diffuser+ shipping = R750
    Local CO2 bottle = R500
    Local ph regulator = R1500

The latter is optional, but highly recommended. Do not skimp on quality when looking at ph regulators.

Depending on your hood design, you can get 2 x 54W T5 (1149mm in length). That would put you in the ballpark for about 2.5WPG, which is where you want to be for good growth without CO2 injection. You will need to dose carbon in the form of Easy Carbo or Flourish Excel.

Prof's Happycarb is cheaper than Seachem, and as a bonus does not contain gluteraldehyde, which can be detrimental to fish health in the long run.

I know I have one. 50 rand for the Sodastream cylinder that lasts a week or less. Definitely not cheaper in the long run

its also much more concentrated Seachem wants 12.5ml per 100L and Happy 1ml per 100L

Neil then you have a leak somewhere - i used to run 4 to 5 weeks on one bottle

Then get a dual T5 54W ballast (R250) and 2 x T5 54W 6500K tubes (R50 each). Wiring is simple - the diagram is printed on the ballast itself! You will need 4 x T5 endcaps/lampholders. Waterproof caps are R45 each and normal caps are R10 each. If you don't expect any major splashing from your filter, get the normal ones and just seal it with masking tape.
