Post Expo Accommodation (Pretoria area)

On Saturday, I work till 9am, so will only leave after work (2 & a half hours drive to Jo'burg and probably get lost - even with the GPS adding another 45 minutes) .... but, I want to get the best out of this expo and will thus (probably) stay later than anticipated.

I have problems with the headlights of my car and do not want to get back home after dark. Soooo..... rather than risk it, I have decided to contact a number of old school friends living in Pretoria area (whom I have not seen in 42 years)..... and arrange a little re-union.

For this purpose.... I need to know if there are any lodges in Pretoria (area) where I can book in with braai facilities where I can entertain around 6 to 8 persons....

Any info and tel. no's will be appreciated..... i.e..... I noticed a huge dam to the left of the main road just after the Lavender rd. turnoff.... do they have overnight facilities..... or any other suggestions??.... Much Appreciated and thanks.

 

Fellow forum member and goos mate of mine runs a lodge in Montana.... Have had some cool Braais there.... Will PM you the details a bit later....

 

I believe thats bon accord dam, I dont know whether they have overnight places, but its not the nicest of places(in my opinion)

A decent lodge that I know of close to it is bentley's country lodge(012 5421751) I dont know their rates though. Otherwise, try here, a very nice lodge just outside of pta-north, with bokkies at your front stoep, and decent rates, it sleeps 6 people: Johan Pieterse @ 083 2569035.

I am now having second thoughts about sleeping over...... I will probably walk out of there with loads of fish and maybe not a good idea to have them sleep over bagged..... but!!... I have Googled and Google earthed Jacques place and if I do call my mini re-union of old schoolfriends..... he will get my call.

This is going to take a lot of self discipline to leave before 15h30...... but with the state of my headlights!!..... I'll just have to sacrifice!.... (Thanks in any case Azure and Mzungu for the info)
