Ouch! shame poor little guy!! Seems like bloat to me!?

I would use epsom salts to try and get his stomach to work :) Also try feeding some cooked peas without the skin. Have you seen him poop recently?

How long has he been like this?

What foods are you feeding him?

@Flash well its been a work fish and upstairs so i don't get to watch him all day unfortunately ... but what ive seen he hasn't pooped in a while ...

    will try using the salts,:D

he went away to one of my colleges for December and came back like this... have no idea what he was fed but here he eats the Betta pellets and flakes

I just want him to make it... its been a mission saving him from the bowl ....

If you dont medicate soon, he will unfortunately die as it is fatal.

Treat with Epsom Salt at 1 teaspoon (+-5mg) per 40L at first. Also try feeding him a cooked and pealed pea as soon as you possibly can.

Feeding only dry food CAN lead to this, as the food then swells up in his stomach. Try to give him a pea or some bloodworms once or twice a week! :)

    Hope fishy gets well soon!

agree with @Flash here. he is 100% correct. I have also found by doing a water change it may help. the colder water makes them poop.

Flaring also helps him poops. Hold a mirror next to him so he can flare. Not for too long though. Abouth 30 seconds should do it.

+ 1 on the epsom salts.

You can also starve him for 4 days and then give him a pea (defrosted and cut into tiny pieces) to eat

Not much...is he eating the pea? Now you just need to wait and see if he makes it or not, I only know of 1 person that had a betta with bloat, that actually made it.

    I'd say Dropsy.

Dropsy makes the whole fish blow up, and causes the fish's scales to stand up... had a betta with dropsy a while ago. I put him in a new tank with aquarium salt. He managed to pull through, but took a huge knock.

This looks like an extreme case of SDB or just heavily constipated. SDB generally causes the fish to float, constipation might be the culprit. Does he look better with all the treatment given so far?

I don't know much about it, but could this be caused by a tumor?
