Platy & Swordtail Community

Hi all

So our Platy babies are growing up nicely- still teeny but in a temporary set up. I want to do a planted tank for the ones we decide to keep. I am also going to be adding my Original 2 Mama Platies and a Swordtail Pair that I have. I think I will probably keep 6 Platies with a decent Male to Female Ratio. My question for the Platy fans, what size tank should I look at? It can’t be huge of course, probably 80-90cm wide is a max size. I have a filter getting ready at the moment. I think we will be safe for another month before I have to set it up.

Would love some info and inspo on your planted Platy tanks?

 

Thanks. I am not really looking to breed more, but I know it’s bound to happen. But I’ll probably mostly just let nature take it’s course. I love my Platy’s. I only have 2 female Adults left and currently 4 of the Largest Fry in my tank with my Female Betta (40 l) but would like to set up a tank for the Platy’s and then my Male Sword and Female Molly (funny story that)
