Was looking for that as well, to put in under the substrate to distribute weight of stones and rocks.
I ended up buying plastic "welded mesh" from Builders Warehouse, and layering it in the bottom of the tank.

    Tnx Maria/Pezulu

Bit of a drive for me for something so small/cheap.lol

Maybe you guys can give me other options....

I bought this tank last weekend for something I can't mention....:)20161203_180428.jpg

I have designed a hang on type basking spot(kinda gives it away there doesn't it.. lol) out of glass that rests on top of the glass slider rails but as the lid is open at the back I find myself with a predicament of occasionally probably going to look for my inhabitant in other places besides the tank...20161207_171839.jpg

Could you perhaps think of something else that I can close up the gaps that are cheap and easy to install?I was going to use silicone to stick the grid on top of my tank to close the gaps.I also have to take in consideration for evaporation but that is not a major concern.

@Christiaan Duvenage , heheheh ok.. no questins asked!!
As @Pezulu mentioned, you do get a "plastic welded mesh" in various sizes which is often used in gardens.
Builders or other hardware stores should keep it in stock

Electrical lighting companies use it as a light diffuser, more your industrial offices, I paid R200 for a sheet of 1200mm x 500mm. Rather hard to come by at times.

I aslo know our LFS sells a similar product made from HDPE which interlocks, not a riggid as egg crate. I will see if my friend at LFS will give out where he gets it from.

These grids are pretty hard to come by so I managed to get these at R60 a pop at a plastic shop..20161209_125818.jpgI can use the grids for my tank and the bottom part doubles up for a serving tray or something.

Bud check the electrical outlets. Not sure if there's a bellco on your side. I got quoted R100 odd for 1.2m sheet.
