    South American Biotope.

There obviously wasn't enough plant mass in the tank and it all became an algal infestation...

You guys would be suprised at the amount of south african aquatic plants and mosses there are, Iv been collecting them for about 3years now only about 10 species have made it into my main tank so far but there is plenty of choice for a SA bio-tope that plus native shrimp, plecos, eels, kili fish, dwarf catfish, f.w mussels, cichlids.. I think there is plenty to go with and am keen do it properly sometime when funds/time permit!!

Funds, time and law permit. Many indigenous creatures are usually -permit only- items, making collecting hard. .

lol you can get a permit to collect from the post office for 50 bucks,(just like a fishing permit) besides Im sure the authorities have better things to do than worry about what I have in my fish tank!
