    Hi all.
So I started on Saturday with my old 1.5 foot tank. It was not going to do the trick for me so got 30cm tank with a clamp on light. The rest of the requirements I had spares or trimmings.
I will be dosing ferts as what can be seen the the last pic.

The initial layout and hard scape.
Used a glue gun to keep the bigger pieces in place.

Substrate and decorative sand was added.
Mix of ADA and some fluorite that I had left.
    3.jpg

I also used and old ice cream tub to cut some substrate support pieces.
    4.jpg

    Then Finally the planting.
I have HM, staurogyne repens and blyxa.
not 100% sure if the blyxa will work with lowTech, but lets see.

The tank is setup in the garage on the freezer we don't use.

Mostly ADA, There some fluorite mixed in with it.
    I would say 90% ADA 10% fluorite

Very nice tank bud, some people just have the skill, and some of us has to learn. But either way, the competition seems to be going...:)

You still have two more plant species available:blink1: nah, less is more..

Genuine question, how well do you think the HM will carpet in a month?

    Yes, less it more.

My study tank is going to be a Monte Carlo and Dragon rock tank only once I get to redoing it.

Well see, I still have some more trimming I can add.
    Stealing as they grow.

But from previous experiences, I should have it 50% covered if I don't steal from my other tanks.

Really love the scape! This tank is going to look awesome when that ground cover kicks in.

Agree with Mark. I would lose the left hand front rock though. It pulls you eye away from the rest of the scape.

Beautiful scape Derik. Think the blyxa will be fine. I've tried it in very low tech tanks and it neither died but nor did it grow. Your light looks brighter than mine did, so should do well.

So this is a first for me.
All my HM melted. Don't have a clue to why.
Oh well. Will have some else in there shortly.

    Regards

Could be the excel. Seem like the reapens are stating to root.
This is some growth on the HM though. The 1 or 2 trimming that did not melt.

Im no plant expert, but I have found in my experience, albeit limited that patience can help. In my opinion, plants have a tendency to "die" in "new" conditions, but they eventually, if left in stable conditions, usually start to propogate new growth as it adjusts to new chemistry.

So I replaced my HM with some more staurogyne.
I also added the livestock today.
6x Emerald Dwarf Rasbora and a handfull cherries.

So making progress. Slowly but surely.
