Planted Nano 40L Jebo

First tank in 10 years, just checking what works before I start a new, 5ft African themed, planted tank.

So this was really a test tank.. trying some new, budget substrate, a cheapy Chinese lamp, some locally sourced hardwood and one shop bought spider wood.
The plants are all from some serious begging and borrowing, there is some bolbitis, pelia, hygrophilia, anubia. The plants outside of the tank are a mix of things i found in my property, mostly ferns and one experimental sweet potato stem.

The filtration system is the integrated one in the old Jebo, with some finer media.

Stock currently is a whole whack of locally caught shrimp (2 species i believe)
2 x dwarf Cory's
3 x sparling gourami's
1 x flying fox
1 x baby Green sword.

There were a few wild-caught Green swords and Guppies but they been returned, to be caught another day (we have feral populations all over our local stream networks)

 

Minor update.
Poor little guy got pillaged once again for plants.. I’ve also removed the flying fox and put it in the large tank.
So for now there are 3 sparking gouramis, 2 x dwarf corys and one female sword, that’s it.
The missus had a crack at re-scaping and here follows the status update:

Thanks, she looked much better before the pillaging, she will get back to her best. Need to spend a small fortune on plants first… oh dear, what a calamity.
